This artwork by Rex Whistler achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in November 2006. In the Victorian & Traditionalist Pictures auction, the work The Elders, From 'Susannah And The Elders' sold for GBP 5,760.00 (€ 8,553.78) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 3,000.00. Admittedly, works by Rex Whistler have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Portrait Of Lady Caroline Paget in June 2017 with an auction result of GBP 68,750.00 (€ 78,293.42).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Rex Whistler erzielte im November 2006 bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Victorian & Traditionalist Pictures wurde die Arbeit The Elders, From 'Susannah And The Elders' für GBP 5.760,00 (€ 8.553,78) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 3.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Rex Whistler auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Portrait Of Lady Caroline Paget im Juni 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 68.750,00 (€ 78.293,42).
