This artwork by Richard Hamilton achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in November 2017. In the Modern British & Irish Art Evening Sale auction, the work Study for $he sold for GBP 440,750.00 (€ 500,316.82) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 180,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Richard Hamilton; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Epiphany sold at auction in February 2015 with the realized price of GBP 557,000.00 (€ 768,020.27).

In der Auktion Modern British & Irish Art Evening Sale wurde die Arbeit Study for $he für GBP 440.750,00 (€ 500.316,82) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 180.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Richard Hamilton; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Epiphany im Februar 2015 mit dem Hammerpreis von GBP 557.000,00 (€ 768.020,27).
