In June 2008 Christies in London held the auction South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art, which included the work Dog in the Bush - II by Riyas Komu. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 22,500.00 (€ 28,440.75), 50% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Riyas Komu - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Designated March of a Petro - Angel (or Desert March), which sold at auction in September 2008 for USD 146,500.00 (€ 104,040.91).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 50 % übertroffen
Im Juni 2008 führte Christies in London die Auktion South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Dog in the Bush - II von Riyas Komu zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 22.500,00 (€ 28.440,75) und damit 50% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Riyas Komu mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Designated March of a Petro - Angel (or Desert March) beobachtet, die im September 2008 für USD 146.500,00 (€ 104.040,91) versteigert wurde.
