Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Mark Him (Second Half Foot Ball Painting - II) by Riyas Komu was sold in the South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art auction at Christies in New York in September 2010. The price achieved of USD 15,000.00 (€ 11,028.60) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 12,000.00 – 18,000.00. Admittedly, works by Riyas Komu have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Designated March of a Petro - Angel (or Desert March) in September 2008 with an auction result of USD 146,500.00 (€ 104,040.91).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Mark Him (Second Half Foot Ball Painting - II) von Riyas Komu wurde im September 2010 in der Auktion South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art bei Christies in New York versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 15.000,00 (€ 11.028,60) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 12.000,00 – 18.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Riyas Komu auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Designated March of a Petro - Angel (or Desert March) im September 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 146.500,00 (€ 104.040,91).
