This work without title by Riyas Komu was sold in the South Asian Modern+Contemporary Art auction at Christies in New York in September 2009. The »bidding war« ended at USD 32,500.00 (€ 22,214.63), 30% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Riyas Komu have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Designated March of a Petro - Angel (or Desert March) in September 2008 with an auction result of USD 146,500.00 (€ 104,040.91).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 30 % übertroffen
Diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Riyas Komu wurde im September 2009 in der Auktion South Asian Modern+Contemporary Art bei Christies in New York versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 32.500,00 (€ 22.214,63) und damit 30% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Riyas Komu auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Designated March of a Petro - Angel (or Desert March) im September 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 146.500,00 (€ 104.040,91).
