Auction result misses estimated price range
In October 2016 a collector was able to acquire the work Sea Wind by Robert Vickrey for USD 11,875.00 (€ 10,832.88). This price was achieved in the auction American Art, Including the Collection of George S. Parker II from the Caxambas Foundation at Sothebys in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 12,000.00 – 18,000.00 set by the auction house. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Robert Vickrey - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A Green Thought, which sold at auction in May 2021 for USD 35,312.50 (€ 28,958.91).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Oktober 2016 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Sea Wind von Robert Vickrey für USD 11.875,00 (€ 10.832,88) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion American Art, Including the Collection of George S. Parker II from the Caxambas Foundation bei Sothebys in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 12.000,00 – 18.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Robert Vickrey mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit A Green Thought beobachtet, die im Mai 2021 für USD 35.312,50 (€ 28.958,91) versteigert wurde.
