Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Peaches and Grapes by Robert Spear Dunning was sold in the From Peale to Peto: American Masters from the Pollack Collection auction at Christies in New York in January this year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 15,000.00 – 25,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 15,120.00 (€ 13,925.22) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Robert Spear Dunning achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A Fruit Picture in May 2017 with an auction result of USD 324,500.00 (€ 288,803.84).

Die Arbeit Peaches and Grapes von Robert Spear Dunning wurde im Januar diesen Jahres in der Auktion From Peale to Peto: American Masters from the Pollack Collection bei Christies in New York versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 15.000,00 – 25.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 15.120,00 (€ 13.925,22) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen.
