Auction result well in line with expectations
In December 2020 Sothebys in New York held the auction Aboriginal Art, which included the work EMU SPRINGS, 1995 by Rover Thomas. The price achieved of USD 12,600 (€ 10,303) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been given by the auction house as USD 10,000 - 15,000. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Rover Thomas achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work in November 2007 with an auction result of AUD 360,000 (€ 216,863).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Dezember 2020 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Aboriginal Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit EMU SPRINGS, 1995 von Rover Thomas zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 12.600 (€ 10.303) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 10.000 – 15.000 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Rover Thomas erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit im November 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von AUD 360.000 (€ 216.863).
