In November 2012 Christies in Hong Kong held the auction Asian 20th Century & Contemporary Art (Evening Sale), which included the work Cahaya Bumi (Light Earth) by Rudi Mantofani. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 1,160,000.00 (€ 115,019.22), 66% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Rudi Mantofani - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Bayangan Merah (Red Shadow), which sold at auction in October 2013 for HKD 3,640,000.00 (€ 345,417.10).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 66 % übertroffen
Im November 2012 führte Christies in Hong Kong die Auktion Asian 20th Century & Contemporary Art (Evening Sale) durch, in der auch die Arbeit Cahaya Bumi (Light Earth) von Rudi Mantofani zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von HKD 1.160.000,00 (€ 115.019,22) und damit 66% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Rudi Mantofani mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Bayangan Merah (Red Shadow) beobachtet, die im Oktober 2013 für HKD 3.640.000,00 (€ 345.417,10) versteigert wurde.
