Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work The Antiques Seller by Rudolf Weisse was auctioned at Sothebys in London in October 2019, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 60,000.00 – 80,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 56,250.00 (€ 65,245.97). Admittedly, works by Rudolf Weisse have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Bohemian a Moment Of Prayer in April 2013 with an auction result of GBP 422,500.00 (€ 498,574.38).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit The Antiques Seller von Rudolf Weisse im Oktober 2019 bei Sothebys in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 60.000,00 – 80.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 56.250,00 (€ 65.245,97) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Rudolf Weisse auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Bohemian a Moment Of Prayer im April 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 422.500,00 (€ 498.574,38).
