Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Sakai Hoitsu could be acquired at Christies in New York in March 2003 for an unexpectedly low price. In the JAPANESE AND KOREAN ART auction, the work Flowers of the four seasons changed hands for USD 14,340.00 (€ 13,155.96) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 15,000.00 – 20,000.00. Admittedly, works by Sakai Hoitsu have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Chofu Jewel River in March 2004 with an auction result of USD 113,525.00 (€ 92,356.82).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Sakai Hoitsu konnte im März 2003 bei Christies in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion JAPANESE AND KOREAN ART wechselte die Arbeit Flowers of the four seasons für USD 14.340,00 (€ 13.155,96) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 15.000,00 – 20.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Sakai Hoitsu auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Chofu Jewel River im März 2004 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 113.525,00 (€ 92.356,82).
