Auction result misses estimated price range
In April 2016 a collector was able to acquire the work Dripping Hair by Sally Mann for USD 4,750.00 (€ 4,151.73). This price was achieved in the auction Photographs at Sothebys in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Sally Mann achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Candy Cigarette in October 2014 with an auction result of USD 257,000.00 (€ 205,107.74).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im April 2016 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Dripping Hair von Sally Mann für USD 4.750,00 (€ 4.151,73) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Photographs bei Sothebys in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 5.000,00 – 7.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Sally Mann erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Candy Cigarette im Oktober 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 257.000,00 (€ 205.107,74).
