The work Mysteries of the Anus by Salvador Dalí was sold in the Impressionist & Modern Art auction at Christies in New York in September 2011. The »bidding war« ended at USD 21,250.00 (€ 15,800.43), 42% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Salvador Dalí achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait De Paul Éluard in February 2011 with an auction result of GBP 13,481,250.00 (€ 15,879,784.58).

Die Arbeit Mysteries of the Anus von Salvador Dalí wurde im September 2011 in der Auktion Impressionist & Modern Art bei Christies in New York versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 21.250,00 (€ 15.800,43) und damit 42% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Salvador Dalí erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Portrait De Paul Éluard im Februar 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 13.481.250,00 (€ 15.879.784,58).
