The »bidding war« ended at USD 1,275.00 (€ 1,266.77), 28% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Sebastião Salgado achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work 'Serra Pelada, Gold Mine, Brazil' in April 2021 with an auction result of USD 126,000.00 (€ 104,738.15).
