Sekino Jun'ichiro (1914-1988), two woodblock prints
ink and colour on paper, one depicting a temple precinct with a lantern in the grounds, the other with a swirling river before a pavilion wall -- each 21¾in. x 6in. (55.2cm x 15.2cm), pencil signed and numbered, sealed, framed and glazed. (2)

Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Two Woodblock Prints by Junichiro Sekino was sold in the Asian Art auction at Christies in London in June 2005. It changed hands for a price of GBP 480.00 (€ 711.39) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 300.00 – 500.00. Admittedly, works by Junichiro Sekino have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Yoshida Bungoro in March 2001 with an auction result of USD 3,525.00 (€ 4,008.41).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Two Woodblock Prints von Junichiro Sekino wurde im Juni 2005 in der Auktion Asian Art bei Christies in London versteigert. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 480,00 (€ 711,39) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 300,00 – 500,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Junichiro Sekino auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Yoshida Bungoro im März 2001 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 3.525,00 (€ 4.008,41).
