This artwork by Junichiro Sekino achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in May 2021. In the Japanese Woodblock Prints | Including the Sokolov Collection auction, the work Untitled (Roofs of Nagoya) sold for GBP 1,890.00 (€ 2,199.06) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 900.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Junichiro Sekino; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Yoshida Bungoro sold at auction in March 2001 with the realized price of USD 3,525.00 (€ 4,008.41).
