Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Indian Encampment by Seth Eastman was auctioned at Christies in New York in March 2004. The price achieved of USD 15,535.00 (€ 12,638.30) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 12,000.00 – 18,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Seth Eastman - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Striking the Post, which sold at auction in May last year for USD 52,920.00 (€ 49,315.07).
