Auction result misses estimated price range
When this work without title by Toko Shinoda was auctioned at Christies in New York in September 2020, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 18,750.00 (€ 16,001.02). Admittedly, works by Toko Shinoda have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Sound (Oto) in September 2020 with an auction result of USD 81,250.00 (€ 69,337.77).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Toko Shinoda im September 2020 bei Christies in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 20.000,00 – 30.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 18.750,00 (€ 16.001,02) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Toko Shinoda auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Sound (Oto) im September 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 81.250,00 (€ 69.337,77).
