Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Portrait James Lee Byars by Sigmar Polke was sold in the Post-War and Contemporary Art auction at Christies in Amsterdam in April 2016. It changed hands for a price of EUR 11,875.00 achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of EUR 8,000.00 – 12,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Sigmar Polke achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Dschungel (Jungle) in May 2015 with an auction result of USD 27,130,000.00 (€ 24,677,096.60).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Portrait James Lee Byars von Sigmar Polke wurde im April 2016 in der Auktion Post-War and Contemporary Art bei Christies in Amsterdam versteigert. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von EUR 11.875,00 den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von EUR 8.000,00 – 12.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Sigmar Polke erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Dschungel (Jungle) im Mai 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 27.130.000,00 (€ 24.677.096,60).
