Auction result well in line with expectations

In December 2013 Christies in London held the auction Victorian & British Impressionist Art, which included the work Portrait Of Sir William Agnew, 1St Bt. (1825-1910) by Hubert von Herkomer. The price achieved of GBP 4,750.00 (€ 5,713.51) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Hubert von Herkomer achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Miss Katherine Grant (The Lady in White) in December 2021 with an auction result of GBP 81,250.00 (€ 96,914.21).

Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen

Im Dezember 2013 führte Christies in London die Auktion Victorian & British Impressionist Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Portrait Of Sir William Agnew, 1St Bt. (1825-1910) von Hubert von Herkomer zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 4.750,00 (€ 5.713,51) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Hubert von Herkomer erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Miss Katherine Grant (The Lady in White) im Dezember 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 81.250,00 (€ 96.914,21).
