In September 2020 Christies in London held the auction Great Summer Art Auction for Marie Curie, which included the work Albert Memorial by Hugh Casson. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 500.00 (€ 551.33), 67% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Hugh Casson have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work An original architectural plan for the Festival of Britain, 1951 in December 2002 with an auction result of GBP 1,645.00 (€ 2,525.16).

Oberer Schätzpreis um 67 % übertroffen

Im September 2020 führte Christies in London die Auktion Great Summer Art Auction for Marie Curie durch, in der auch die Arbeit Albert Memorial von Hugh Casson zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 500,00 (€ 551,33) und damit 67% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Hugh Casson auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit An original architectural plan for the Festival of Britain, 1951 im Dezember 2002 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 1.645,00 (€ 2.525,16).
