Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Genesis by Jacob Epstein was sold in the Modern British and Irish Art auction at Christies in London in July 2016. It changed hands for a price of GBP 1,375.00 (€ 1,633.80) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jacob Epstein achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Sir Winston Churchill in June 2014 with an auction result of GBP 182,500.00 (€ 228,025.02).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Genesis von Jacob Epstein wurde im Juli 2016 in der Auktion Modern British and Irish Art bei Christies in London versteigert. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 1.375,00 (€ 1.633,80) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 1.000,00 – 1.500,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jacob Epstein erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Sir Winston Churchill im Juni 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 182.500,00 (€ 228.025,02).
