Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2017 Artcurial held the auction Post-War & Contemporary Art, which included the work Incomplete Open Cube (Quasi-Cube) 9/1 - 1973 by Sol LeWitt. It changed hands for a price of EUR 171,600.00 achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of EUR 120,000.00 – 180,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Sol LeWitt - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Wavy Brushstrokes, which sold at auction in July 2015 for GBP 449,000.00 (€ 636,531.19).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai 2017 führte Artcurial die Auktion Post-War & Contemporary Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Incomplete Open Cube (Quasi-Cube) 9/1 - 1973 von Sol LeWitt zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von EUR 171.600,00 den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von EUR 120.000,00 – 180.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Sol LeWitt mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Wavy Brushstrokes beobachtet, die im Juli 2015 für GBP 449.000,00 (€ 636.531,19) versteigert wurde.
