Sold at the upper estimate price
The work Lines from Corners, Sides and the Center, to Points on a Grid (Black) by Sol LeWitt was auctioned at Christies in New York in July 2021. The auction ended at the price of USD 3,000.00 (€ 2,528.66), which exactly corresponded to the upper end of the estimated price range of USD 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Sol LeWitt achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Wavy Brushstrokes in July 2015 with an auction result of GBP 449,000.00 (€ 636,531.19).
Zuschlag beim oberen Schätzpreis
Die Arbeit Lines from Corners, Sides and the Center, to Points on a Grid (Black) von Sol LeWitt kam im Juli 2021 bei Christies in New York zur Auktion. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von USD 3.000,00 (€ 2.528,66) entsprach exakt dem oberen Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 2.000,00 – 3.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Sol LeWitt erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Wavy Brushstrokes im Juli 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 449.000,00 (€ 636.531,19).
