Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2011 Sothebys in Toronto held the auction Important Canadian Art, which included the work Skeena I by Takao Tanabe. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of CAD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00, the actual price achieved of CAD 20,400.00 (€ 14,866.69) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Other works by Takao Tanabe have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in May 2011 the work The Foothills, Banff was auctioned for CAD 25,200.00 (€ 18,093.66).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November 2011 führte Sothebys in Toronto die Auktion Important Canadian Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Skeena I von Takao Tanabe zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von CAD 20.000,00 – 30.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von CAD 20.400,00 (€ 14.866,69) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Andere Arbeiten von Takao Tanabe konnten bereits höhere Auktionspreise erzielen, so wurde im Mai 2011 die Arbeit The Foothills, Banff für CAD 25.200,00 (€ 18.093,66) versteigert.
