Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Bird on reed and rose mallow by Tani Buncho was auctioned at Christies in New York in March 2003, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 3,000.00 – 4,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 2,868.00 (€ 2,631.19). Admittedly, works by Tani Buncho have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Geese in marsh in March 2008 with an auction result of USD 37,000.00 (€ 23,410.31).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Bird on reed and rose mallow von Tani Buncho im März 2003 bei Christies in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 3.000,00 – 4.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 2.868,00 (€ 2.631,19) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Tani Buncho auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Geese in marsh im März 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 37.000,00 (€ 23.410,31).
