It achieved a price of USD 3,107.00 (€ 2,850.46), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 55%. Admittedly, works by Tani Buncho have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Geese in marsh in March 2008 with an auction result of USD 37,000.00 (€ 23,410.31).

Die Arbeit The poet To no Enmei (Tao Yuan-Ming) von Tani Buncho kam im März 2003 bei Christies in New York zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von USD 3.107,00 (€ 2.850,46) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 55%. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Tani Buncho auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Geese in marsh im März 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 37.000,00 (€ 23.410,31).
