Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2006 Christies in New York held the auction The House Sale, which included the work Portrait of a military commander holding a baton, three-quarter-length, in armor by Thomas Murray. The price achieved of USD 7,200.00 (€ 5,636.89) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 6,000.00 – 8,000.00. Admittedly, works by Thomas Murray have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Portrait of Anne, Lady Trevor, Three-Quarter-Length, In A Pink Dress With Blue Cloak, Her Right Hand Resting On A King Charles Spaniel, Honeysuckle To Her Left, A Wooded River Landscape With A Castle Beyond in June 2005 with an auction result of GBP 18,600.00 (€ 27,566.37).
