Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Titus Kaphar achieved an unexpectedly high price at Phillips in Hong Kong in December 2020. In the 20th Century & Contemporary Art Evening Sale in Association with Poly Auction auction, the work Well Kept sold for HKD 3,528,000.00 (€ 372,127.56) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 1,200,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Titus Kaphar - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Untitled III, which sold at auction in June 2021 for USD 1,058,500.00 (€ 893,399.73).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Titus Kaphar erzielte im Dezember 2020 bei Phillips in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion 20th Century & Contemporary Art Evening Sale in Association with Poly Auction wurde die Arbeit Well Kept für HKD 3.528.000,00 (€ 372.127,56) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 1.200.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Titus Kaphar mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Untitled III beobachtet, die im Juni 2021 für USD 1.058.500,00 (€ 893.399,73) versteigert wurde.
