This artwork by Tom Purvis achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in June 2015. In the Posters auction, the work WHITLEY BAY sold for GBP 5,625.00 (€ 7,931.18) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 3,000.00. This high result makes WHITLEY BAY the most expensive artwork by Tom Purvis that we have observed at auctions so far.
