Auction result misses estimated price range
In August 2021 a collector was able to acquire the work A Tony Abeyta Painting, 1993 by Tony Abeyta for USD 1,147.50 (€ 972.46). This price was achieved in the auction Modern Native American ArtFeaturing the Wendy and Les Fisher Collection of Canadian Inuit Sculpture at Bonhams in Los Angeles and was even below the estimate range of USD 1,500.00 – 2,500.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Tony Abeyta achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work untitled (pueblo scene with rain showers) in August this year with an auction result of USD 17,920.00 (€ 16,532.89).
