Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Toshio Shibata could be acquired at Sothebys in London in October 2021 for an unexpectedly low price. In the From Japan with Love auction, the work 'Lake George', Park County, Colorado, 2000 changed hands for GBP 2,016.00 (€ 2,388.42) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Admittedly, works by Toshio Shibata have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Kashima Town, Fukushima Prefecture in April 2011 with an auction result of HKD 137,500.00 (€ 11,949.26).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Toshio Shibata konnte im Oktober 2021 bei Sothebys in London für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion From Japan with Love wechselte die Arbeit 'Lake George', Park County, Colorado, 2000 für GBP 2.016,00 (€ 2.388,42) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 3.000,00 – 5.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Toshio Shibata auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Kashima Town, Fukushima Prefecture im April 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 137.500,00 (€ 11.949,26).
