Auction result well in line with expectations
In March 2013 Sothebys in New York held the auction Passion + Transmission: International Contemporary Art from the CAP Collection, which included the work Everytime by Tracey Emin. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 80,000.00 – 120,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 80,500.00 (€ 62,812.11) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Tracey Emin achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work My Bed in July 2014 with an auction result of GBP 2,546,500.00 (€ 3,211,937.15).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im März 2013 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Passion + Transmission: International Contemporary Art from the CAP Collection durch, in der auch die Arbeit Everytime von Tracey Emin zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 80.000,00 – 120.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 80.500,00 (€ 62.812,11) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Tracey Emin erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit My Bed im Juli 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 2.546.500,00 (€ 3.211.937,15).
