This artwork by Tristram Ellis achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in London in June this year. In the Travel & Exploration Sale auction, the work The Old Fortress (Palaio Frourio), Corfu sold for GBP 4,096.00 (€ 4,767.04) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 1,800.00. Admittedly, works by Tristram Ellis have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Epping Forest, Walthamstow in June 2007 with an auction result of GBP 18,000.00 (€ 26,711.09).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Tristram Ellis erzielte im Juni diesen Jahres bei Bonhams in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Travel & Exploration Sale wurde die Arbeit The Old Fortress (Palaio Frourio), Corfu für GBP 4.096,00 (€ 4.767,04) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 1.800,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Tristram Ellis auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Epping Forest, Walthamstow im Juni 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 18.000,00 (€ 26.711,09).
