In April 2010 Christies in London held the auction Travel, Science and Natural History, which included the work The Golden Horn, Constantinople by Tristram Ellis. The result of GBP 500.00 (€ 575.40) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 500.00 – 700.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Tristram Ellis achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Epping Forest, Walthamstow in June 2007 with an auction result of GBP 18,000.00 (€ 26,711.09).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Im April 2010 führte Christies in London die Auktion Travel, Science and Natural History durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Golden Horn, Constantinople von Tristram Ellis zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von GBP 500,00 (€ 575,40) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 500,00 – 700,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Tristram Ellis erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Epping Forest, Walthamstow im Juni 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 18.000,00 (€ 26.711,09).
