In July 2008 Christies in London held the auction Important Old Master & British PicturesEvening Sale, which included the work The Madonna and Child with the martyred Saint Cecilia and infant angels by Ventura Salimbeni. The price achieved of GBP 79,250.00 (€ 100,688.02) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 70,000.00 – 100,000.00. Other works by Ventura Salimbeni have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in January 2008 the work St Clare Repulsing The Saracens From Assisi was auctioned for USD 193,000.00 (€ 130,045.15).
