Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Eros by Victor Pivovarov was sold in the Contemporary East auction at Sothebys in London in November 2013. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 50,000.00 – 70,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 52,500.00 (€ 63,176.72) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Victor Pivovarov - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Triptych with a Snake, which sold at auction in October 2008 for GBP 145,250.00 (€ 185,141.64).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Eros von Victor Pivovarov wurde im November 2013 in der Auktion Contemporary East bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 50.000,00 – 70.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 52.500,00 (€ 63.176,72) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Victor Pivovarov mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Triptych with a Snake beobachtet, die im Oktober 2008 für GBP 145.250,00 (€ 185.141,64) versteigert wurde.
