Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Portrait of a Saint by Viktor Vasnetsov was auctioned at Christies in New York in April 2003, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 8,365.00 (€ 6,811.89). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Viktor Vasnetsov achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A Bogatyr in November 2011 with an auction result of GBP 1,105,250.00 (€ 1,290,266.20).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Portrait of a Saint von Viktor Vasnetsov im April 2003 bei Christies in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 8.365,00 (€ 6.811,89) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Viktor Vasnetsov erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A Bogatyr im November 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 1.105.250,00 (€ 1.290.266,20).
