Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Vilhelm Hammershøi could be acquired at Sothebys in London in July last year for an unexpectedly low price. In the European & British Art, Part I auction, the work The White Door and the Golden Cupboard changed hands for GBP 94,500.00 (€ 112,849.78) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 100,000.00 – 150,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Vilhelm Hammershøi achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Stue (Interior with an Oval Mirror) in May last year with an auction result of USD 6,300,000.00 (€ 5,870,841.49).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Vilhelm Hammershøi konnte im Juli letzten Jahres bei Sothebys in London für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion European & British Art, Part I wechselte die Arbeit The White Door and the Golden Cupboard für GBP 94.500,00 (€ 112.849,78) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 100.000,00 – 150.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Vilhelm Hammershøi erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Stue (Interior with an Oval Mirror) im Mai letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 6.300.000,00 (€ 5.870.841,49).
