Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Venice Canal by Warren W. Sheppard was sold in the American Works of Art auction at Bonhams in Skinner Marlborough, Massachusetts in September last year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 1,000.00 – 1,500.00, the actual price achieved of USD 1,020.00 (€ 1,042.62) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Warren W. Sheppard achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The naval engagement between the C.S.S. Merrimac and the U.S.S. Monitor at Hampton Road in February 2006 with an auction result of USD 48,000.00 (€ 40,251.57).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Venice Canal von Warren W. Sheppard wurde im September letzten Jahres in der Auktion American Works of Art bei Bonhams in Skinner Marlborough, Massachusetts versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 1.000,00 – 1.500,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 1.020,00 (€ 1.042,62) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Warren W. Sheppard erzielen.
