The »bidding war« ended at USD 5,040.00 (€ 3,886.19), 26% above the upper estimate. Other works by Watanabe Seitei have achieved even higher prices, we observed the highest auction result so far of USD 4,025.00 (€ 4,204.09) in March 2000 for the work The wife of Enya Takasada at her toilette.
