Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Le Travail Interrompu (Réduction) by William-Adolphe Bouguereau was sold in the The European Art Sale auction at Sothebys in New York in May 2021. The price achieved of USD 352,800.00 (€ 289,322.62) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 300,000.00 – 500,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William-Adolphe Bouguereau achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work La Jeunesse De Bacchus in May 2019 with an auction result of USD 20,766,000.00 (€ 18,625,885.73).
