In the Impressionist & Modern Art Evening Sale auction, the work La Jeunesse De Bacchus changed hands for USD 20,766,000.00 (€ 18,625,885.73) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 25,000,000.00 – 35,000,000.00. Despite this disappointing result, La Jeunesse De Bacchus is the most expensive artwork by William-Adolphe Bouguereau that we have observed at auction so far.
