Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In June 2004 Christies in London held the auction 20th Century British Art, which included the work Flowers in a vase by William Coldstream. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 8,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 8,962.50 (€ 13,338.88). Admittedly, works by William Coldstream have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Seated Nude in November 2012 with an auction result of GBP 73,250.00 (€ 90,236.57).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Juni 2004 führte Christies in London die Auktion 20th Century British Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Flowers in a vase von William Coldstream zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 8.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 8.962,50 (€ 13.338,88) einen neuen Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von William Coldstream auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Seated Nude im November 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 73.250,00 (€ 90.236,57).
