The work White Camelias, c.1950 by William Frater was auctioned at Bonhams in April this year. It achieved a price of AUD 1,968.00 (€ 1,179.55), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 64%. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by William Frater - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Near Trawool, which sold at auction in August 2001 for AUD 5,640.00 (€ 3,274.18).

Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von AUD 1.968,00 (€ 1.179,55) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 64%. Für andere Arbeiten von William Frater mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Near Trawool beobachtet, die im August 2001 für AUD 5.640,00 (€ 3.274,18) versteigert wurde.
