In August last year Bonhams in New York held the auction American Art, which included the work Girl Reclining by William James Glackens. The »bidding war« ended at USD 1,785.00 (€ 1,773.47), 49% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William James Glackens achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Café Lafayette (Portrait of Kay Laurell) in November 2018 with an auction result of USD 792,500.00 (€ 699,902.85).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 49 % übertroffen
Im August letzten Jahres führte Bonhams in New York die Auktion American Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Girl Reclining von William James Glackens zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 1.785,00 (€ 1.773,47) und damit 49% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von William James Glackens erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Café Lafayette (Portrait of Kay Laurell) im November 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 792.500,00 (€ 699.902,85).
