This artwork by William James Glackens achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in April this year. In the Modern American Art auction, the work Nude Bathers sold for USD 16,380.00 (€ 14,836.96) - well above the upper estimate of USD 8,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William James Glackens achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Café Lafayette (Portrait of Kay Laurell) in November 2018 with an auction result of USD 792,500.00 (€ 699,902.85).
