Auction result misses estimated price range
In July 2021 a collector was able to acquire the work Chrysanthemums by William James Glackens for USD 22,680.00 (€ 19,116.66). This price was achieved in the auction An American Summer at Sothebys in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 25,000.00 – 35,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William James Glackens achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Café Lafayette (Portrait of Kay Laurell) in November 2018 with an auction result of USD 792,500.00 (€ 699,902.85).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Juli 2021 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Chrysanthemums von William James Glackens für USD 22.680,00 (€ 19.116,66) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion An American Summer bei Sothebys in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 25.000,00 – 35.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von William James Glackens erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Café Lafayette (Portrait of Kay Laurell) im November 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 792.500,00 (€ 699.902,85).
