This artwork by William Monk achieved an unexpectedly high price at Phillips in Hong Kong in December last year. In the 20th Century & Contemporary Art Evening Sale in association with Yongle auction, the work Far-Out III sold for HKD 2,520,000.00 (€ 301,985.42) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 1,200,000.00. This high result makes Far-Out III the most expensive artwork by William Monk that we have observed at auctions so far.
