The work Women Playing with Cats 29 x 20.3 cm. (11 3/8 x 8 in.) by William Roberts was sold in the Modern British and Irish Art auction at Bonhams in London in November 2020. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 325,250.00 (€ 363,088.76), 30% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by William Roberts - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Chess Players, which sold at auction in May 2012 for GBP 1,161,250.00 (€ 1,446,866.41).

Die Arbeit Women Playing with Cats 29 x 20.3 cm. (11 3/8 x 8 in.) von William Roberts wurde im November 2020 in der Auktion Modern British and Irish Art bei Bonhams in London versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 325.250,00 (€ 363.088,76) und damit 30% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von William Roberts mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The Chess Players beobachtet, die im Mai 2012 für GBP 1.161.250,00 (€ 1.446.866,41) versteigert wurde.
